Blessed Lammas

Happy Lammas! (Northern Hemisphere) And, so, the wheel turns.  I have spent several hours of late harvesting and preserving the produce from our garden.  Although it is tedious, it is time well spent.  I find myself in awe of how Mother Earth grants us such bountifulness with just a little bit of effort on our part.  I do hope that, if you celebrate Lammas, the you celebrate with gusto!

The name Lammas is derived from the term ‘loaf-mass.’ It is the celebration of the first harvest.  This celebration also goes by other names: Lugh, Lughnasa, Lughnasadh, Frey.   Lammas is celebrated by baking bread loaves and giving thanks to the Sun God who infused the grain iwth his lgiht and power.  In a sense, he gives his life so that we can live.

This is an exciting and busy time for nature worshipers!  I can attest to the busyness as our garden continues to flourish and produce.  Thank you, Mother Earth!!  So, amid the picking, shelling, and preserving, I will try to find time to, well, indeed i will find time to celebrate the turning of the wheel.

Now, there are corn dollies to be made.  Hopefully, I can get my granddaughters to help with that.  A ritual of thanksgiving to indulge in….you cannot lose with a grateful heart.  And some meditation and reflection time.

I wish you the very brightest blessings this harvest season!

SUNDAY ORACLE: Aphrodite (Inner Goddess)

“Awaken the goddess within you through dance, self-care, and appreciating your divinity.”

This week make time to focus on you. The beautiful Aphrodite, the Greek goddess that is said to have sprang from her father’s castrated genitals, is the embodiment of all that is feminine and powerful. Males can also tap into the power of Aphrodite’s wisdom and sexuality. As a matter of fact, for a male, this goddess offers some insight into balance. This is a great time to get in touch with your feminine side men.

Too often we have allowed society to tell us who we should be and how we should act. For females, we are sometimes expected to hide our wisdom, power, and sexuality. Now is the time to let go of all of those constraints. Release the feminine goddess within yourself and let your power burst forth.

Find some time to treat yourself this week. Have a spa day, even if you have to have it at home. Celebrate all that you are. Dance and enjoy being feminine. Call on Aphrodite and allow her to help you heal your sexuality.

Women (and girls) Aphrodite can guide you into being who you are, help you accept that you are divinely female and that is nothing to be ashamed of. Give yourself over to the healing this week and Goddess Bless you every one!

Stop worrying. Everything is going to be fine.”

How much time do we each waste worrying? Truth be told, way more than should be devoted to such a useless pastime. The old cliché is true, “If you can change a situation, change it. If you cannot change a situation, let it go.” The fact is, the Universe has our back. There is nothing out there that is wanting to make life hard for us, nothing blocking our success or ease of living except our own fears.

The beautiful Hindu goddess, Lakshmi, wants you to know that she is here to wrap her arms of happiness and abundance around you. Whether it is more time, more money, more solidity in relationships, anything at all, Lakshmi will provide. All you have to do is relax and let go of your fears.

The Universe, the Divine, God, etc., has not put roadblocks in your path to try and trip you up. Those come from within. There are no tests that you have to pass in order to become successful in whatever area of life you are worrying over. There is only our own fear of what the future might hold.

Call on Lakshmi to help you overcome those fears and anxieties and to instill in you the knowledge that you will receive the abundance that is yours. You will always have everything you need. Your future is indeed bright. Let go of the ‘woe is me’ mentality and those negative vibes that tell you nothing will ever get better. It already is better, just accept it.

May you be blessed this day with the knowledge that the Universe does love you and wants the very best for you.

“Be honest with yourself: What is your heart’s true desire?”

This is a tough task for many people. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. That is to face who I really was and what I really wanted in life. Tough, yes! Worth it, YES!

We discussed last week the importance of quiet time. Quiet time presents the perfect avenue for coming to terms with these two issues. Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes. She shows that it is the element of fire that purifies and burns away old, useless things in our lives. She will guide you to discovering your true desires, your true path. Do not be afraid to call on Pele to help reveal these things to you.

There is a reason why you have the interests and dreams that you do. They are a part of you. Divinely issued. You can run from who you are. You can deny your own passions. However, doing this insures that you will never find true happiness and fulfillment.

This is the time to take charge of who you really are and what you want for your life. Maybe it is time for you to start that new business. Or simply change jobs, preferably to one that aligns with your passions and interests. Honestly look at your priorities and how you spend your time. Does this reflect taking steps to manifest your dreams? If not, make the necessary changes Give yourself permission to go for your dreams! Do not hesitate to begin moving toward your dreams.

Take some quiet time alone to rest, meditate, and contemplate.”

The Gnostic goddess that is considered to be the void from which all creation sprang, wants you to connect, once again, with silence. Now is the time to retreat into a quiet place and silence the mind chatter. Let go of worries and concerns. It is of the utmost importance to take some time to be still and quiet. Take a few moments today to just breath and keep silent, make no decisions or plans. It is with this meditative silence that you will find your true self and the true answers to the questions you seek. The quiet mind finds wisdom.

Today, stay away from loud noises and crowds. Go on a retreat, take a walk in a quiet place, preferably in a nature setting. Vow to talk less and listen more this week. Rest your mind with meditation and contemplation.

Many of us do not take enough time to sit quietly and commune with the silence that gives birth to wisdom. We want to always have some sort of chatter going on. You may be pleasantly surprised to find that a regular diet of quietness clears your thought processes. You will find that your are making better decisions with a lot less effort and worry. So, give quiet a chance! Allow Sige to guide you into that silent void and be amazed at the more peaceful life that will be created from it.
